Never has a fruit so deliciously flavored a wedding. We had mangoes as part of the centerpiece, mango desserts of course, mango-jito and mang-rita signature drinks! This mango-filled reception carried a Filipiniana theme. Hanna and Albert married on Independence Day, June 12th. I absolutely adore Filipiniana weddings because it shows Pinoy pride. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them :)

I am so excited about tomorrow's fair. Every Wedding Expo, it is my personal goal to feature something new for our clients. Two fairs ago, we purchased new damask table cloths and used our new lamp shades. Last wedding fair, I had a white damask light box backdrop especially made. This worked well with our "printed" vases, the idea of which I borrowed from my friend Chelle (whose wedding I will also feature soon :) ). The combination of blue and white is so Mediterranean. I love doing prints and patterns in these colors.

As for this weekend's setup, I really hope you guys like it. Even if we were done setting up earlier than usual, I enjoyed staying til closing time, sitting on our sofa and staring at how simple our booth is. We hope to see you this weekend :)

Tips on how to be an earth friendly bride

Reduce reuse recycle!

1) Use recycled paper for printable materials like invites, table numbers and place cards.

2) Use less flowers or opt for more greens or foliage that may also double as take home gifts (like herbs or wheat grass which you can make into tea!)

3) Opt for organic giveaways (organic soaps, organic lotions... make sure to credit your supplier so guests will know where to get them later on).

4) Reuse unused note cards in the future as gift tags.. Or to write love notes to each other :)

5) RSVP! So no food will go to waste.

6) A smaller cake with less styro is more environmentally friendly.

7) Have a daytime wedding so there's less lighting thus less electricity to be consumed

8) Lastly, always turn leftover lechon into paksiw :)

An intimate little affair with a Spanish flair

Top row: We served red wine sangria to set the mood for the evening reception.
Second row: The courtyard's cobbled floors and distressed walls was the perfect backdrop. Menu items were in Spanish but we made sure to add in the English translation so guests didn't have to keep guessing what they were having :)
Third row: A band of black to hold the napkins. Red roses on our "silver-plated" pedestals. My waiters get a good workout carrying these!
Fourth row: Our ensalada verde con nueces, aceto balsamico de miel a.k.a. salad greens with sun dried tomatoes, walnuts and honeyed balsamic. (Although i couldn't find the translation for sun dried tomatoes). A Filipino-Spanish cheeseboard was prepared for the cocktail hour, we had
queso blanco (kesong puti), queso de bola (our Christmas-time cheese) and of course some Manchego. I found some yummy smoked cheese and pimiento-coated cream cheese and threw those in. All cheeses were wiped out before dinner even started.
Fifth row: Last photo is our callos dish served with crusty bread. This recipe is older than me, a borrowed dish from my lola's menu :) Our recipe has a spicy kick so don't let this traditional dish deceive you :)

See you at the fair today. Here's our setup last March at the Wedding Expo. Got my inspiration from the craft begins. Click on the link on my list of favorite blogs. I love that her palettes are not too common and not too "pretty". I wish I had a bit of a more unstructured style like hers :) Enjoy!

Mood: Mediterranean villa
Palette: cream, stone, bougainvillea and mustard

Top row: Potted bougainvillea on the foreground. Take advantage of its lushness during the summer months. A bunched up arrangement of white carnations looks like delicate ruffles.
Second row: This succulent is super affordable. These can even be given as favors. Find them at Manila Seedling. Our newest gray damask (side note: we can only use these in non-smoking venues. I would hate to get cigarette burns on my most prized linen..:) ). White pebbles on the ground.
Third row: Lampshades on tall vases, with curly willow branches submerged inside the vase. Mustard napkins, my new favorite color.
Fourth row: A cluster of cacti

Last row: Groom was a production designer, he created arches made of white twigs on the entrances and lit these up with Christmas lights. It was a labor of love! He set these up the day before the wedding :)

I've been blessed with the nicest, kindest, most supportive and loving couples. Escie and Rudy definitely make that list.

To Escie (bossing ni Rudy) and Rudy(hehe!)--love ko kayo! Happy to share here some pics from your beautiful day :)

The registration area was lined up with chocolates :) As guests entered, they were treated with kitkat bars which also served as their escort cards. Each bar was re-wrapped with labels the couple printed themselves.

The wedding took place in Malolos, Bulacan kung saan haciendero ang pamilya ni Rudy (tama ba, Escie? :)) Who would've thought there'd be a huge, sleek, fresh venue in this province..

Since Escie and Rudy are based in Singapore, they used Sing MRT Stations as table numbers :)

Lemons livened up the presidential table. I love yellow :) It screams so much happiness and perfectly fits the couple.

On the kiddie tables: coloring materials, toys and candies. Low tables covered in brown paper for kids to scribble on (and to protect our linen from crayon marks, hehe).

Cake by Joy San Gabriel :) She never fails to make these cute toppers.

We printed out note cards which guests hung on our wishing tree. At the end of the night, family and friends filled the tree with beautiful sendoff wishes for the couple :)

We love debuts! ("De-boo" for me, funny when it's pronounced as "day-byu" but might be the more sosyal way to pronounce it?? hehe!) Debuts are more tasking than weddings (numerous costume changes, themed details, not to mention guests don't always arrive on time..) but debuts are so much fun :) Here's a debut series for you guys..

Top row: Kim's invite by Adworks Grafix. I suuuper love when i get my own invite. No i don't need a seat, but this is highly appreciated.
Second row: Black tablecloths with red overlay. 5-tiered cake by Alex Franco (yum as always!). Carousel type draping-very elegant but the hardest type of draping to do for stylists.
Third row: Personalized menu cards patterned from the invite. Each napkin was tied with a black ribbon and adorned with a red rose.
Last row: Black wooden candelabras alternate glass vases. Stage design by Solutions Events.

We love teaming up with stylists! Working with them can create a more pulled together look for an event. It was my first time with Josef Claravall. He was a joy to work with :) Looking forward to more events with him.

Top row: Angelica's invite, made by the sister's boyfriend, Joey Puno. Clusters of purple hydrangeas, alstroemerias and mini lamps by us. Tall vases with mirrored disco ball and spray-painted gold leaves were provided by Josef Claravall. We embellished each napkin with a sequined ribbon and a feather to complement the flapper theme.
Last row: The venue (there's no need to spend a fortune on a good venue!). Our banoffee in shot glasses. Yum :)

Top row: The couple ordered their cute cake from Claycakes. We placed note cards on top of each napkin so guests could leave personal wishes for the couple.

Second row: Each napkin was tied with a brown vine. The centerpieces blended well with the brown interiors of Mango Farm's glass pavilion.

Third row: Brown twigs wired with eucalyptus leaves, placed on a tall glass vase filled with moss. Cabbage cactus beside each table number. Beautiful hydrangeas for something blue.

{Real wedding} Andrew & Sayaka

Mood: Elegant Hawaiian

Palette: Fuchsia, white and brown

Venue: Balai Taal, Tagaytay

Aloha means love :) The couple picked their meeting place to be the theme for their wedding. And although luau's been done a thousand times.. theirs translated a pulled together Hawaiian motif. Balai Taal was the perfect venue.. the wood details and super lush bougainvilla plants complemented their fuchsia and brown palette.

Andrew and Sayaka come from very different backgrounds--Andrew is Filipino and Sayaka is Japanese. So it was very important for Andrew to make Sayaka's family feel at home at their wedding. There were paper cranes everywhere, all personally handmade by the groom and his friends. It was a very thoughtful detail and was the perfect stamp of Andrew's love for his bride.

Top row: Origami on the tables for a little touch of Japan.

Second row: Rectangular tables can be very functional, no need to think of how to group friends into 8's or 10's. Aesthetically elegant too. Names of places in Hawaii are so beautiful.. these were used in place of table numbers.

Third row: The groom sent us a Japanese translation of our menu. It was a little bit scary to serve Sayaka's family Japanese cuisine.. so what we served was a fusion of all three countries to tickle the palettes of all the guests. The main course was composed of Seared tuna belly served on top of wasabi mashed potato and Inihaw na baby back ribs in pineapple sauce served with cherry tomatoes and carrot rice wrapped in banana leaf. And we served bibingka for dessert!

To Andrew and Sayaka, mahalo! All good wishes for you both!

Everything about the wedding reflected Loren's style. She came stylishly dressed in her mini dress and heels every meeting, it was sort of a telling that her wedding would be a glitzy affair :) She pulled together all these wedding details to give her guests a taste of a little Hollywood glam..

Mak and Loren had their wedding at Casa Blanca and put their faces on a huge Casablanca movie poster that lit up the entrance of the venue. (Photo grabbed from bleachnstain.multiply.com)

Loren and her entourage painstakingly pasted M&L stickers at the bottom of each gold-foiled chocolate kiss. Their list of drinks included sparkling white wine, cosmo and chocolate martini.

The reflection of the candles on the glasses created a stunning ambience. Plus the combination of red and gold was super elegant.

So lucky to have started the year with a beautiful wedding. Monique and Rusky had a romantic engagement in Italy. (Rusky flew all the way to Casarsa to propose to Monique while on tour with the UP Concert Chorus.) So it was only inevitable that their wedding carried an Italian theme.

I was so excited to do this--we replaced the usual floral centerpieces with edible ones. Guests snacked on good cheese, grapes, bread (from French Baker) and balsamic dip that were already set up on the tables. Monique provided most elements, including potted herbs purchased from Manila Seedling Bank which guests took home.

The couple served Leonardo wines (Leonardo is Monique's maiden name). These were placed on the tables, which double purposed as table numbers, and at the wine bar along with other types of wine.

For the menu cards, I printed the same photo the couple used for their post card invite. Photo of Venice was taken by the groom.

Other details worth mentioning: Their cake looked like giant blocks of cheese :) and Jordan almonds were given as favors. The menu was composed of Italian dishes like Osso bucco, eggplant parmigiana, panna cotta and tiramisu.

Congratulations Monique and Rusky! And thank you for making me a part of your love story :)
